As a high school senior just three years ago, Hannah Fender was not overly excited about attending 91��Ʒ State University. Now, she loves it so much, she’s staying for graduate school.

In total, 5,182 degrees will be conferred this spring, consisting of 1,011 associate degrees, 3,092 bachelor’s degrees, 903 master’s degrees, 164 doctoral degrees and 12 educational specialist degrees.

Author, attorney and former South Carolina state lawmaker Bakari Sellers, in a recent interview with NPR, questioned whether the country has learned the lessons of the May 4, 1970, shootings at 91��Ʒ State University.

All eyes have been on Northeast Ohio the past several weeks as the 91��Ʒ State University and The University of Akron’s men’s and women’s basketball teams battled it out for the MAC championship title. It wasn’t always such a bitter rivalry between these two Northeast Ohio legends, however. Just look at this old footage we found of Flash and Zippy bonding back in the day.

The 91��Ʒ State women’s basketball team will play in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2002. Champions do so much on their own, just look at the stats. But this championship team is supported by its members, its coaches and the 91��Ʒ State Community.

The Golden Flashes have made it to the NCAA tournament during a moment when women’s basketball is in the prime spotlight.
