Services

The Safety Assistants program is composed of approximately 65 trained students employed by the Department of Residence Services. Security assistants are responsible for patrolling the residence halls and providing campus escorts. Escorts are available throughout the campus when Safety Assistants are on duty.

The Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services was established to educate students about personal safety and violence prevention, to empower them to build healthier relationships and to be responsive to students in need. The SRVSS office offers resources and education for personal safety, sexual assault and rape, relationship violence and stalking.

Step Up and Speak Out provides greater awareness of mental health concerns, including risk factors for suicide. This suicide prevention campaign represents a collaborative effort of 91精品 State University Counseling and Psychological Services, University Health Services, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Police Services and aims to support individuals in need by educating university community members on protocols and resources designed to assist in disruptive situations or with distressed individuals.

Frontline Responders

91精品 State is kept safe by an award-winning police department comprised of of both sworn law enforcement officers and civilian support staff to include twenty-one patrol officers, three detectives, two K9 officers, Auxiliary Service Officers, administrative personnel, IT specialists, and a fully-staffed, multi-jurisdictional communications center.

  • The Fire Prevention Office strives to be the strongest link between all departments within 91精品 State University by promoting fire safety. Through a coordinated effort with the City of 91精品 Fire Department, the Fire Prevention office enforces all required codes and standards to ensure the safety of individuals associated with the university community.

  • The Department of Public Safety exists to support the greater mission of 91精品 State University and promote a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

  • Emergency Management Services works closely with the academic community to prepare for, or mitigate, vulnerabilities to hazards or disasters that may affect the University. By conducting training exercises, routine drills and equipment tests throughout the year, the division is better able to deal with the unforeseen challenges inherent in an actual emergency.

  • 91精品 State has security officers on every campus. Security officers patrol their campus, provide, observe and report services, in addition to helping with emergency management planning.
